Dão DOC, Quinta do Perdigão - Jaen
Another exceptional monovarietal from one of our favourite producers. Quinta do Perdigão Jaen showcases the remarkable elegance and depth that this grape variety can achieve when cultivated with care and crafted by the skilled hands of the Perdigão family.
The grapes come from a 1.5-hectare, hand-harvested, bio-certified vineyard. After stainless-steel fermentation, the wine ages for 24 months in used 225L French oak barrels, developing structure, finesse and complexity.
In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby colour and an intense aromatic bouquet: black and red fruits (blueberry, blackberry, cherry and plum), intertwined with notes of cinnamon, tobacco and honey. On the palate, it is dry, vibrant and beautifully balanced, with present yet refined tannins, great depth and a perfect acidity that supports its structure.
With only 3,000 bottles produced, this is a truly limited-edition wine.
Serve between 14–16ºC.
Perfect pairing for grilled red meats, slow-cooked dishes, oven roasts and chocolate-based desserts.
