Barbera’s wines are usually regarded as a “second wine” in the Langue-Piedmont area; nevertheless,
Josetta Saffirio’s Barbera reaches a distinct level in the hands of this family. Everything starts with
organically grown grapes on steep-slopes of Monforte D´Alba – where the Sun dictates the pace of
maturation and the time of harvest.
After the harvest, the seasons guide the winemaking. Fermentation will be finished by winter and
the wine will develop, mature and rest through the entire four season cycle.
The result could not be different, a bright violet wine with fresh and a lively fragrance of
blackcurrants perfectly balanced by its acidity and firm structure. A pleasant companion to a
characterful pasta or meat dish.
