Sancerre AOC, Domaine Cedrick Bardin, 2023 | 2024 - Sauvignon Blanc
The duet Sancerre AOC / Pouilly-Fumé AOC are probably the star appellations of the prestigious Val de Loire region. Their Sauvignon Blanc together with Marlborough in New Zealand are the international references for wines of this aromatic grape.
And, Domaine Cedrick Bardin - like no other producer in the region - has been mastering the art of producing outstanding wines, year after year, on its different soils.
Produced on Silex soil (here called Flint), Domaine Cedrick’s Sancerre goes through a slow, cold and long fermentation, followed by an attentive battonage precisely one month after the end of the fermentation - all of this to preserve the aromatic richness of its grapes.
The result is a wine with a fine, complex aromatic spectrum of fresh white fruits (pear, peach and apple), citrus fruits as well as floral notes. The long finish brings back the minerality that is so characteristic of a great Sancerre.
A great companion for your oysters and seafood platters, grilled fish or goat cheese. You will also appreciate it as an aperitif.
