Chablis AOC, 1er Cru, La Meulière, Mont de Milieu, 2023
The Chablis AOC, although a relatively small area, enjoys an outstanding reputation for its Chardonnay that, different from the traditional Bourgogne´s Côte d’Or, represents a unique style - crispy with bright citrus and green apple flavors, exceptional acidity and minimum wood character.
On the top layers of the appellation, the 1er Cru parcels account for only 14% of the total appellation and represent, together with the Grand Cru, the best climats of the appellation.
The Domaine de la Meulière is today led by the brothers Nicolas and Vincent Laroche that represent the 9th generation of this legacy that goes back to 1779. Their Monts de Milieu 2019, is a fine representation of their tradition of mastering the defiant climate of Chablis.
Mont de Milieu 2021 can be drunk now or in the next decade, accompanying refined starters, noble fish or richer, creamy preparations. Enjoy it!
